- Add two-digit numbers using place value concepts
- Learn about regrouping when the sum of ones is 10 or more
Addition Using Place Value
Base ten blocks are powerful tools that help us understand addition by visually representing the process. When we add numbers, we need to pay attention to place value - we add ones to ones, and tens to tens.
Remember
When adding, we always start with the ones place (the rightmost digit) and then move to the tens place.
