Introduction to Counting On

When we add numbers, we are combining two groups to find the total. One way to add is to use the counting on strategy. This means we start with the larger number and count forward by the smaller number.

Example: 7 + 3

Start with 7, then count on 3 more: 8, 9, 10

So 7 + 3 = 10
