Introduction to Factoring Expressions
Factoring is the process of breaking down an expression into a product of simpler expressions. It's the reverse operation of expanding (using the distributive property).
To factor an expression, find the greatest common factor (GCF) of all terms and factor it out.
Factoring helps simplify expressions and is essential for solving equations.
