What is the Constant of Proportionality?

The constant of proportionality (often represented by the letter k) is the constant value of the ratio between two proportional quantities. It tells us how much one quantity changes in relation to the other.

In the equation y = kx, k is the constant of proportionality.

The constant of proportionality is also the unit rate. It represents the y-value when x equals 1.
