Introduction to Compound Events
A compound event consists of two or more simple events. For example, flipping a coin AND rolling a die is a compound event combining two simple events.
To find probabilities of compound events, we use organized lists, tables, and tree diagrams to systematically identify all possible outcomes and calculate their probabilities.
Understanding compound events is essential for analyzing situations where multiple random processes occur together, from games to real-world scenarios.
